Our Leadership
Suresh Patil founded Basant Betons in 1977 to manufacture the finest mosaic tiles in India. Five decades later, even as the company has achieved an industry-best status in concrete product manufacturing and is expanding its precast vertical, his commitment to being the leader continues to define the company.
His keen eye for quality and aesthetics, knowledge of the Indian market and interest in robotic manufacturing are the drivers behind our pioneering product innovations and technological milestones. With his constant yet patient search for the next frontier, it’s no surprise that he’s also an avid golfer.

After graduating from Boston University with a degree in Business Administration with a specialty in Operations, Sharan worked at leading multinational companies in the US and UK before joining Basant Betons in 2015.
As Director, Sharan focuses on daily operations, customer experience, maintaining our world-class quality and developing new products. Having helmed some of our largest projects, he is now spearheading Basant Betons’ foray into precast product manufacturing. Sharan has played tennis at the international level, and now brings his skill and sportsmanship to the putting green.

Our Factories
At our three manufacturing facilities spread across 39 acres in total, we’re constantly augmenting capabilities with the latest technology and highly trained production teams. Our newly inaugurated Shoolagiri unit specialises in precast concrete, enabling us to deliver exceptional dimensional accuracy at scale and customise every detail.

Over The Years
1977
Basant Betons is founded on December 27th in Hubli. Mosaic tile production begins on a water-powered hydraulic press.
1983
Our focus on quality and innovation takes us to our first trade fair in Italy, where we view the latest manufacturing technology.
1986
We install an Italian-made Longinotti Corporation press. Our first fully-automated equipment, it enables us to scale up mosaic tile production.
1994
Our first Bengaluru factory is established in Jigani and features India’s first shot-blasting machine.
1994
Our first Italian-made hermetic OCEM Corporation press is installed, enabling world-class manufacturing of flooring products. We also become the pioneer of automatic paver production in India.
1997
Our second OCEM hermetic press is imported from Italy for our Hubli factory, cementing our leadership in automated production of pavers and concrete tiles.
2000
We make our foray into precast product manufacturing with elements like stormwater flags, drains and covers as well as custom-made products.
2005
We introduce vacuum-dewatered wet press technology to India, importing machinery from the UK’s Forest Press Hydraulics Ltd. for our Jigani factory. Apart from expanding our portfolio, it also enables us to manufacture high-strength kerbs, flags and water channels with a pimple finish.
2005
In another first for India, we streamline our delivery logistics by mounting a Hiab crane from Sweden onto one of our trucks.
2008
We inaugurate our factory in Harohalli and introduce colour blending and washed finishes to India with the fully-automated, German-made MASA AG machine.
2017
A Fanuc Corporation robot is imported from Japan, a pioneering move in India’s concrete landscaping industry.

A new three-station vacuum-dewatered wet press from the UK’s Wil El Mil Engineering Ltd. is commissioned to generate large-scale kerbs, flags and water channels with a pimple surface texture. The tech upgrades boost productivity while keeping quality consistently high.

With the procurement of a facility from Germany’s Testing GMBH, we strengthen end-to-end quality control and achieve the highest quality standards at every step of production.

We inaugurate our new Experience Centre on 100 Feet Road, Indiranagar, Bengaluru. Spread across 5,000 sq ft, it gives our customers the opportunity to view our entire portfolio and explore customisation possibilities.
2019
We equip our Hubli factory with the German-made Rekers block and paving machine, which automates production from start to finish. The highly-advanced technology ensures precision while the colouring system produces the highest level of colour blends internationally.
2026
We inaugurate our 17 + 7-acre precast concrete manufacturing plant in Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu. Powered by advanced Japanese technology, the facility is among India’s most state-of-the-art and is equipped to make a wide range of high quality products at scale.
